Acquisition & Growth
Junior Product Designer, Transaction Service for Sellers · Avito · Oct 2023 – Oct 2025
A personal account for property sellers and real estate agents, 0→1
I joined Comfort Deal before the product existed. Selling an apartment ran offline through operators, and we were only launching the digital service. Then, for eight months, the team had no product manager, and I stepped into that role. Feedback from sellers still reached us only through operators, so I took it on: I ran brainstorms with business, marketing and call-center operators, gathered the requirements, wrote the specs and, together with the engineering lead, built interim feedback and agent reviews into the product.
We started with the sales side, an acquisition stream that brought sellers in. I designed contextual entry points and landing pages for different seller scenarios, so someone weighing the sale of their home understood what we offered before they started. Then deals started to come in, and we saw that we had no digital experience for sellers. A deal like this is long: selling an apartment takes 6–8 months from the first contact to the signed contract, and we were paid only at the end, a commission on the closed deal. So we couldn’t afford to lose a seller anywhere along the way. That was the hardest problem of the project. I designed the MVP seller account for the whole path: where the deal stands, where to get help, and how to flag a problem.
Over those months, many sellers dropped out, and working with the ones who declined to take part in the program became a stream of its own. As a junior designer, I ran 20+ user interviews and research myself to find the pains and growth points and see where we were losing sellers, and then to improve those moments and keep people in the program. Retention and churn were the metrics I worked on.
In the end, I built the product’s flow from scratch: the MVP and the end-to-end experience, from the first step into the service to the closed deal. I then took part in scaling it to 500+ agents and tens of thousands of sellers across major regions. Together with the team, we brought the product to product-market fit, and it reached its revenue targets.
Impact
- Ran product for eight months without a PM: led brainstorms with business, marketing and call-center operators, wrote the specs, and shipped interim feedback and agent reviews with the engineering lead
- Built the product’s flow from scratch: the MVP seller account and the end-to-end experience for a 6–8 month apartment sale, from the first step into the service to the closed deal, with deal status, access to support and a way to flag a problem
- Designed contextual entry points and scenario-specific landing pages that met sellers at the moment of need
- Worked on retention and churn: ran 20+ user interviews and research myself on sellers who declined to take part, to find where we lost them and how to keep them in the program
- Helped scale the service with the team to 500+ agents and tens of thousands of sellers across major regions; the product reached product-market fit and its revenue targets
